Art Therapy Workshop:
Colour therapy (also known as chromotherapy or light therapy) is a type of holistic healing that uses the visible spectrum of light and colour to affect a person’s mood and physical or mental health. Each colour has a specific frequency and vibration. These can activate certain hormones in our bodies which in turn influence our emotions and can enable the body to heal.

It is believed that the unique vibrations and frequencies of specific colours can be used to affect the energy and frequencies within our bodies. For example, blue can have a calming effect whereas the colour red might have the opposite effect. Green is said to be relaxing, while yellow may be used to invigorate and energise.

While it is common knowledge that light enters through our eyes, light can also enter through our skin. Additionally, the colours surrounding you can also have various effects. Knowing the colours in your aura can help you better understand your spirit, and thus help you better understand how to heal.

Dance Therapy Workshop:
Dance Movement Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses movement to address emotional and psychological concerns. When we talk, we often choose our words carefully, and according to the environment.

Movement helps us express ourselves beyond the conscious choices and filters. DMT provides the space for an individual to express emotions, especially the ones that are often not easy to express verbally.

Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) works on the principle that the body and mind are connected. When the mind is affected, it shows in the body and vice versa. So, addressing a problem at one level leads to improvement in the other. Body movements are symbolic of one's feelings. Using movement, DMT professionals help individuals gain better control of their body and mind.

Stress is a natural physical and mental reaction to life experiences. Everyone expresses stress from time to time. Stress shows up in different ways, in our bodies, headaches, tightening of muscles, rapid breathing are some examples of it. Through dance movement therapy we will attempt access and understand our body-mind connection.

The sessions would be conducted by two facilitators, who are in the field of psychology and movement therapy.Using movement, individuals can gain better control of their body and mind. The session will consist of movement based activities along with verbal and art processing. The sessions will be conducted online and the facilitation will be in english.

Date: 28th August and 29th August 2021
Timing: 5 pm to 7 pm
Fee: ₹ 2000/- INR (inclusive of both sessions)
