The term Schizophrenia is derived from two Greek words ‘schizo’ means split and ‘phrenia’ means mind. Schizophrenia is not a single disease but a cluster of disease. It is the most serious thought disorder. People suffering from schizophrenia have no control over their thoughts, thinking, action and feeling. Their thinking is so confused and disorganized. They jump from one idea to another. Some of the prominent symptoms of schizophrenia are hallucinations, delusions and negative affective behaviour.
Dr. Abha has been practising psychiatry for many years. In this MHT Live, she shares much of her experience in working with patients with schizophrenia. From explaining the signs and symptoms to understanding the treatment options for schizophrenia in India, Dr. Bang shares it all in this webinar with MHT. Moreover, she also busts some myths about schizophrenia as well as psychiatric treatment that can be beneficial for Indians as there is much misinformation in the society about mental illness.
