Hypnotherapy; A Therapist’s Perspective | Ms. Keya Sampat | MHT Bytes

Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic practice which is also known as guided hypnosis. It uses techniques of relaxation, intense concentration and attention to help reach an individual to a state of heightened consciousness or mindfulness. For many ages, hypnotherapy has been used to help individuals with various concerns like anxiety, phobias, substance abuse, sexual dysfunctions and many other undesirable impulsive behavior patterns.

Despite its popular reach as a therapy, it has many stereotypes attached to it. Ms. Keya Sampat, in this MHT Conversation, clears out various stereotypes attached to hypnotherapy and provides a unique therapist’s perspective to it. As a hypnotherapist, she talks about what helped her incline towards using this approach of therapy, how does it help her clients, what are various doubts that clients hold about this therapy and how effective has it been for her.

She also provides our viewers with benefits of choosing hypnotherapy over other therapeutic approaches. According to her experience and belief, hypnotherapy helps us to process the root cause of any anxiety, phobia or any undesirable behavioral patterns rather than just focusing on overt behavior. This process helps an individual to manage the concern better as the trigger itself is resolved and hence the chances for the undesirable behavior to occur again reduces to minimum.

Tune in to this conversation to understand the therapist’s perspective to hypnotherapy. As an additional aid, Ms. Keya has provided our viewers with an audio created by her to help one attain a state of mindfulness. This process can be done in a standing or sitting posture. If sitting, make sure the feet are touching flat on the floor and are not cross legged.
