Whether it is an orthodox outlook or the lack of awareness and education, the stigma around mental health is at an all-time high which, if not addressed, can lead to dire consequences. The same study showed that 1% of the Indian population reported high suicidal risk.  Due to the high stigma levels attached to mental health, people face the threat of being excluded by society, feel marginalized by the government or even fall prey to loss of opportunities, both in personal and professional lives. We, as a community, have to break the stigma and make mental health care more accessible to all those who are in need of the same.
