Alzheimer’s Disease is a neurodegenerative disease where the symptoms of dementia starts getting severe as the age progresses. Alzheimer’s symptoms usually consists of memory loss and cognitive impairment that hampers daily functioning.
Individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease looses their ability to live a normal routine along with difficulty in responding appropriately to the environment. The main symptoms include disorientation, mood and behavior changes, difficulty in speaking, swallowing and not being aware or being very confused about the present situation.
Alzheimer’s disease does not have a specific treatment but various research supports that individuals can manage their Alzheimer’s symptoms and improve their quality of life.
Alzheimer’s treatment is to slow the progression with which the brain cells of the patient are deteriorating. The treatment involves mixture of cognitive rehabilitation to manage mood and behavior changes, alter sleep patterns, increase recognition of primary caregivers etc. along with medication as per the patient’s severity.

Ms. Vishwa Modi has pursued her bachelor’s in psychology from Mithibai College and further completed her Master’s in Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Psychology from S.N.D.T Women’s University.
She has worked with several organizations across Mumbai. Vishwa has worked with adolescents, adults and geriatric. She has an experience working with depression, anxiety, personality disorders, stress, conflicts, obsessive-compulsive disorder, relationship issues, anger management, self-esteem issues, body-image issues, complex trauma, stress, grief, void, lack of motivation and adjustment issues.
Additionally, Ms. Vishwa Modi is a certified dementia skills trainer and a committee member at Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Society of India.
