She gives a psychiatric or a psychological approach to spread awareness about giving attention to women’s sexual health.

What to expect in this MHT Podcast:

To talk about women’s sexual health is a taboo. It is not given attention even by women themselves because it is shamed in the society, especially India. There is a huge gap in how expression of sexual needs is looked at from each gender in the society. This neglects women’s sexual health at the most and it requires a lot of perceptual change.

Meeting sexual needs is like meeting any other need of the body and shall be given equal priority. Instead, especially in India, expressing sexual needs and talking about sexual health is a strong taboo and all the more if a women does that, she is shamed about her character, neglecting her needs and health.

On the whole, it affects the mental health of women as not only their sexual health is neglected but them expressing or wanting to give it attention brings a whole another stereotypical shaming by the society contributing to adverse effects on their mental health.

In this MHT Podcast, understand from a professional how neglecting women’s sexual health affects what aspects of their mental health, how the stigma attached in the society needs to be broken, and how this connection between women’s sexual health and their mental health can be improved by acknowledging and prioritizing their sexual health.
